The real problem

Most startups don't die from a bad product.
They run out of cash — without seeing it coming.

A full-time CFO costs £150k–250k a year. A fractional one, £3,000–12,000 a month. So most founders run on a spreadsheet — and find out about the VAT threshold, the cash cliff, or the number they can't answer in a board meeting after it's a problem, not before. Solvent runs the day-to-day and tells you what's coming.

Your numbers, explained in plain English.

Every screen has a built-in AI console that reads your live data — not a generic help doc. Ask "Am I about to hit the VAT threshold?" or "Can I afford to hire?" and it answers from your actual books, and shows you the rule and the number behind the answer. It proposes; you approve. It never moves money or files anything on its own.

Can we hire someone at £4,000/month?
That reduces your runway from 8.1 to 5.6 months, and pushes your rolling turnover past the £90,000 VAT-registration line in about 3 months. Want the reminder on your compliance calendar?
What's included

Everything a finance team does.
Automated, not outsourced.

From your first invoice to your Series A model — and your accountant's books stay clean.

VAT-aware invoicing

Sequential numbering, correct VAT by rate, cross-border reverse-charge notes; issued on schedule. Advisory per country — you or your accountant sign the filing.

Costs & bookkeeping

Categorise spending, attach a contract per supplier, keep proper double-entry books in the background; export to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.

Bank reconciliation

Import a statement or CSV from your bank, Wise or Stripe (no live account access needed); Solvent matches payments to invoices and costs, and you review the result.

Live P&L & runway

A plain-English dashboard over real books: what you earned, what you owe, and how many months of cash you have left.

VAT, tax & deadline watch

Warns you before you cross the sales limit where VAT registration kicks in, estimates corporate tax, and keeps a per-company calendar of what's due, for whom, when.

Investor-ready planner

A multi-year model; swap projections for signed-deal actuals and export to Excel.

Built for cross-border

Incorporate anywhere. Stay compliant everywhere.

Each company follows its own country's rulebook — the right VAT, corporate tax and filing calendar, in the right currency, applied automatically. Adding a new country is a configuration change for us, not a rebuild, so jurisdictions arrive fast. We're live in the four that matter most to globally-incorporated founders:

UNITED KINGDOM
Ltd
Rolling-12m VAT (£90k), Corporation Tax, Companies House calendar.
UNITED STATES · DELAWARE
LLC · C-corp
Franchise-tax estimate, Mar 1 / Jun 30 deadlines, US↔EU cross-border.
AUSTRIA
GmbH
€55k VAT threshold, 20% VAT, 23% corporate tax, FinanzOnline calendar.
HUNGARY
Kft
HUF 20M VAT threshold, 27% VAT, and a 9% flat corporate tax (≈11% with local business tax) — still the lowest in the EU.

Estonia, Malta, Ireland, Cyprus, the Netherlands and more on request. Every tax output is advisory — confirm with a local accountant.

For accountants & CSPs

Run a virtual-CFO practice across borders.

One practice workspace. Every client is its own isolated entity, with its own country's rules applied automatically. White-label it as your own service, bill per client, and see what's due across every client in one view. Cleaner client data, less month-end archaeology — and your clients get a clean, exportable set of books instead of a folder of emails.

Solvent runs on Solvent

We run our own company on it.

Solvent isn't a demo. RHND Innovations GmbH — the company behind Solvent — runs its own invoicing, costs and VAT watch on it, across its UK and Austrian entities. Two rules keep it honest: every tax figure is advisory — you or your accountant sign whatever gets filed — and the AI proposes but never acts on your money or filings without you. No lock-in, no revenue share, no price that rises just because you grew.

From £39/mo vs £3,000–12,000/mo for a fractional CFO · prices excl. VAT

Every tax figure is advisory

VAT, corporation-tax and local-tax outputs are guidance to keep you oriented between accountant conversations — not filing-grade. Each is computed from that jurisdiction's governor ruleset. Always confirm with a qualified local accountant before registering or filing.

Common questions

Plain answers before you start.

Is this an accounting package?
No — Solvent is the daily finance system that feeds your accountant's books. It exports to Xero, QuickBooks and Sage; it makes their job (and yours) faster, it doesn't replace them.
Does it file my VAT or tax for me?
No. It computes VAT, watches your threshold and tells you what's due and when — but every figure is our best estimate, not a filed return. You or your accountant review and file. You stay in control.
What if I operate in more than one country?
That's the point. Each company runs its own country's rules and currency automatically. Live today in the UK, US, Austria and Hungary; more on request.
Does the AI touch my money?
Never. It reads your data and proposes; you approve every action. It doesn't move money or file anything on its own. Turn it off and nothing happens in the background.
Are the numbers in your screenshots real customer results?
No — they're example figures to show how the product works, not customer results.
When do I start paying?
Free for 30 days, no card. Paid billing starts 1 September 2026.
Can I leave?
Any time, with your data. No lock-in, no revenue share.
